5 Dam Ride June21, 2008 |
|
There are so many great rides we have been on, but the 5 Dam ride is one of my favorites. To take your bike through mountain farming communities and High Mountain passes to some of the most beautiful lakes our state has to offer. Starting our day at Full Throttle and as always indulging ourselves in their hospitality; it was great to see new and old faces. Sending out a shout to Nedra Palmer, Rachelle Anderson, Carolee Streeper and Barry Verhaal; thanks for riding with us today. Our ride captain led us in the cool mountain air to the high mountain reservoirs of East Canyon, Echo, Rock Port, Jordanelle and Deer Creek; each one so different from the other, but equally as beautiful. Having all that chrome glistening in the sun and the roar of v-twins scooting past the lakes was a sight to see (hope we didn't scare the fish!) Riding in the mountains can give a person an appetite and we had a big one. We stopped in the small town of Kamas at the quaint eating establishment of Sean Wharton's Gateway Grill. Now this place can put on a feed, the special of the day was garlic burgers and let me tell you "GOOOOOOOD". At the end of the day we had a safe ride with all the beauty our minds could handle, good food with some of the best friends to share with. - Mark Petersen |
