Chapter 152's Annual BBQ |
What do Games, Friends, Food and Prizes have in common? - Star Chapter 152 BBQ.
We gathered at the park at 11:00am to get things together and get the BBQ going. Marshall started with a few items of chapter business and Dennis with some finalization on the up coming Red Rock Ride, BUT it was clear that we were hungry and there was MEAT on the grill and lots of goodies that needed to be consumed. As the “consumers” we needed to get down to business. Good food and good friends and of course full bellies; what more can a person could ask for? - Chapter Shirts!!! They are in. A big thanks to Pete Kadish (U GO BOY) for making the contacts and getting them done for the BBQ. Thanks George Lupanow for getting the shirts to the BBQ (Heavy Lifting). There are still quite a few shirts available. If you would like to purchase some (while supplies last) please get in touch with one of the officers for help.
With chow out of the way it was time for our drawing for prizes. Kudos to all the people that donated the prizes for our BBQ. There were some really nice items. Now for the fun: Steve and Colette McPhee our game coordinators had a treat for us with Frisbee golf, Bingo and a old favorite, Ice Block Sledding---“LOL” What a great time watching grown people sitting on a block of ice sliding down a hill. Well you had to be there for some of the funniest sights here in Utah.
This BBQ brought old friends and new friends together, some friends we had not seen for a long, long time. We would like to ask for your prayers for healing for ReNae Jackson from her recent surgery, and for anyone else in our chapter that needs healing.
All in all, the BBQ was a big success and thanks to all who attended this year.
