Chili Cookoff |
It’s that time of the year for Chapter 152's annual chili Cook off. David & Annette Thompson opened up their home for this prestigious event. With our spectators arriving around 4:00pm, you could feel the anticipation on who would be the proud owner of the "great Chili Gnome." While waiting for our cooks to arrive, we told stories of all of our riding adventures through out this year and the sadness of it coming to a fast end.
The first cook to arrive was Michelle Thompson, aka Hot Sauce, with her helper Candy
Thompson aka Pepper Nacho; Placing their pot of chili on the stove with Matt
standing guard. Second to arrive was Sandy Kadish, aka Senora Baja Chili Spice. Now
this Pot was locked down so tight there was no way anyone was getting a peek of this chili
until judging time. Our last cook to arrive was a newcomer to chili cooking: Phoenix,
aka Salsa Nina. Now let me tell you trying to get a Recipe from a 10 year old isn't easy.
This girl had a sharp eye out on her chili pot. With all the cooks in place it was time to have
some fun bribing our judges, but our judges are made of steel and would not waver under the pressure of our cooks.

Judging was tough with so many good chili's to eat it was hard to crown a champion. Thanks to all for a great evening with friends.
OH? Who won? Salsa Nina took home the Chili Gnome for 2007.
Now this girl looked me square in the eye and said, "see this Gnome - it’s the last time you will see it".
Phoenix don’t get attached to the Chili Gnome . . .
