This years Star B Que was held at Farminton Park on a hot day - June 24th. This was a great location with lots of shade, restrooms and plenty of grass to play on. The day started out innocently enough - the barbecue grill was unloaded, the hamburgers and hot dogs where placed on the grill and expertly cooked. Dennis brought his famous pulled pork (mmmm, good) and there was plenty of other great picnic food out for all.

Once the eating was over, Marshall and Karen made a few announcements about the various goings on with the Angel Ride and then the time was turned over to Steve and Colette McPhee for the long awaited 'Star B Que Olympics'.

This is when the fun really began. Take a bunch of full motorcyclists (bikers?), add a hot day, athletic events (sort of) and some water - then stand back and watch the fun. Steve and Colette did a great job planning and orchestrating the Olympics. There was Javelin throwing, Frisbee tossing, Croquet golf, and the Wet ball shotput. Categories included Star Men, Ladies of the Star, Star Teens, and Star Kids. Turns out we have a somewhat athletic group as many people tried their hand at the various events - some even did well! There were even some tie-breakers needed for a few of the categories. At the end Steve announced the winners for Gold, Silver and Bronze and even handed out medals. Thanks to Steve and Collette for putting this fun time together.

It was a great time with great folks once again. Thanks for everyone that contributed with food, drinks, cooking, cleaning, games, and jokes. Isn't it cool to be able to hang out and enjoy each others company even when we are not on a ride!
